At last, I've beated Final Fantasy XIII, so I decided to reward myself with the upcoming XIII-2 trailer. My first impression: WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. This series is really going down, FFXIII is ok, but at the same time it got alot of critic for being too linear. To correct this, they decided to do another X-2 clone?? wtf??
square has done three ff for ps1, two for ps2, and only one for ps3. for some reason, this generation has been really hard for jrpg.
<--- use to be a huge ff fan (and still trying to)

I enjoyed playing XIII but it had a lot of flaws, no cities, npc's, lack of freedom, etc, things that were in all the previous FFs. Luckily these things have been confirmed for XIII-2! It won't be a similar game as X-2(what a failure that was) but more like an improved version of XIII, i'm definately getting it. I'm also hopkng there will be more side missions and mini games, the chocobo game and the mark mission are just mehh, where is gold saucer!? chocobo races? blitzball? chocographs? card games?
XIII is so far the only FF on the PS3, but with the upcoming release of XIII-2 and later versus XIII, there will be 3 FF's represented on the PS3(not counting FFXIV, if it's still released on PS3) Then, last but not least, the HD remake of FFX! Rumor has it that X will run on the engine of XIII and has online compatibility(Blitzball online? Can't wait to humiliate radar 8)). Might be just wishful thinking, but wow if it'll happen! A DMS blitzball team!

Ughh Blitzball, am I the only one who didn't like FFX, that game was a serious letdown for me..although it might've been because i was in the army at the time and I spent all my weekend holidays trying to rush through the game without concentrating on sidequests or those uberbosses.
The main reason why I decided not to get FFXIII was the lack of freedom and the linear gameplay which I despise.

For me, FF10 was the last ff which had an interesting storyline in it, after that it has just been weird. FFXII didn't have a rememberable story, but it had really good battle system which helped me enjoy the game, even did almost all the extra stuff too. FF golden years are on ps1 and FFVI. FFXIII problems are as u say doughboy, and these r to be correct in FFXIII-2. Is just when I watch the trailers, I cant help to think of FFX-2, lets go find the missing person quest and girl power. I don’t want to calculate this as a “new” FF. I want new story, world, characters, not a sequel to the previous one. Are they out of ideas, or do they only want to save money? It has even the same battle system in it! FFXIII-Versus, again same characters, not like this square, nooo
